  • Provided funding for the purchase of bathing suits for 60 students to attend summer camp to learn how to swim, sail, kayak and snorkel.
Grades 3 – 5 Jennings Dual Language and International Magnet School

  • Provided funding for students to perform at the Providence Bruins Hockey Game in Providence RI during the half-time show.
Grades 9 – 12 NLHS

  • Provided funding for the NLHS Drama Club’s performance of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

  • Provided funding for the NLHS Senior After-Graduation Party
Grade 12 STMHS

  • Provided financial assistance for a research project, “A Fresh Look at Acne Therapy.”
Grade 9 – 12 STMHS

  • Provided funding for the Hospital Occupation of America (HOSA) Club to attend the international conference.
Grades K – 12 District Wide

  • Provided funding for the development of a NLPS Guide to Partnerships
Grades 6 – 8 BDJMS Book Room Project

  • Reestablishment of library services for middle school students
Grades 9 – 12 NLHS Culinary Arts Program – Whaler Cafe

  • Provided funding for the summer session programs which included the purchase of tee-shirts for students attending the summer program, 2 fishing trips for students in July and August, food products used for the summer camp and the staffing of 2 teachers for the summer program.
Grade 9 – 12 NLHS Education-at-Sea Program aboard the SSV Oliver Hazard

  • Provided funding for NLHS students to sail on the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry, an educational tall ship from Newport Rhode Island.
Grades 9 – 12 NLHS Community Garden Project

  • Build and develop gardens on the NLHS campus to engage students in the process of growing their own produce and using their crops to cook healthy foods.  An amphitheater will also be designed to allow for outdoor demonstrations.
Grade 5 Nathan Hale Bus Transportation

  • To ensure that Nathan Hale’s a capella group was able to accept an invitation to go to Boston to participate in a workshop.
Grade 2 Winthrop STEM Magnet School Exploration Camp

  • This initiative afforded students the opportunity to discover and internalize the wonders of science.  This program is intended to: supplement the participating schools’ existing science programs with thoughtful rigorous lessons, bring the excitement of science discoveries into the classroom and create connections with local scientists/community professionals.
Grade 4 Jennings School – Project Oceanology

  • Provided funding for all 4th Grade students at Jennings School to attend Project Oceanology
Grades 6 – 8 Guitars for Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School

  • Provided funding to establish a stringed instrument component for the BDJMS Music Program.
